JEFFREY, Joseph Daniel 'Danny'

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our father,
grandfather, great-grandfather, husband, brother and friend on the 26th day
of February 2015, at 4:50 a.m. Danny was born in 1930 in Louisdale where he
lived all his life. He was a member of the Pipefitters Local Union 682 for

59 years, and worked multiple jobs in the Cape Breton area. He was a
pipefitter by trade and a fisherman at heart, he fished commercially for 65
years. Danny absolutely loved being out on the water with his pots and nets
and did so right up until his last days. Often times a percentage of his
small catches went to family, friends and the unfortunate. Danny will be
hugely remembered as a kind, generous person who loved his wife and family
with all his heart. Danny loved playing cards and enjoyed going for trips to
the casino. He absolutely loved having friends and family at the house where
he was at his best. His quick wit and humorous nature quite often had
everyone in the house laughing either at him or with him; he and his
lifelong friends would tell stories about their younger escapades. This was
evident right up to his final days. Rest in peace, your stories will never
be forgotten. He leaves to mourn, the love of his life, Bertha Mae Jeffrey;
his sons, Darryl (Marlene) of Louisdale; and Duane (Charmaine) of Timberlea;
his grandchildren, Amy (John) of Arichat; Courtney (Alfred), Stony Plain,
Alta.; Noel and Chelsey, and by his great-grandchildren, Addison and AJ. He
is also survived by brother, Tommy and sister, Elizabeth. He was predeceased
by his father, Alfred Joseph; mother, Eva May; sister, Elizabeth and
brothers, William, Alfred, Edmond and most recently his brother Willie.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. on Sunday, March 1st, in the Glen Sampson Memorial Room, Louisdale.
Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 2nd in St. Louis Roman
Catholic Church, Louisdale with Rev. Abazai officiating. Burial in St. Louis
Parish Cemetery will take place at a later date. Reception will follow in
the parish hall. Memorial donations may be made to the Strait Richmond
Hospital, Palliative Care Unit or St. Louis Parish Roof Fund. To send
