Here is a portion of SAW letter of 1981 to me.
Emmanuel Bonin , son of Jean Francois Bonin and Marguerite Josse, was born at D'Escousse about 1781.About 1802 Emmanuel married Marie Mombourquette, d/o Antoine & Charlotte Samson pf L'Ardoise. The newly married couple took up residence at Lower D'Escousse, and Emmanuel engaged in the fishery, as his father had. On May 6 1824, old Jean Francois Bonin sold Lot # 10 at Lower D'Escousse, containing about 40 acres, to Emmanuel for the equivalent of two dollars.Eight years later, howerver, Emmanuel was sued by Lawrence Kavanagh's widow ( Felicite* Lejeune) *, and this property was attached . appraised, and apparently sold to settle the jugement mrs. Kavanagh obtained in her favor.
