After the death of her father, Suzanne came to New France in 1653 with her mother, fille à marier Jacquette Tourault.

On 27 November 1655, 14-year-old Suzanne married Simon Lereau (L'hérault, L'heureux) on the fle d'Orléans, though the act is recorded in the registers of Notre-Dame de Québec. Neither spouse could sign the marriage contract drawn up by notary Auber 31 October. Simon was born about 1622 in Saint-Côme-de-Vair (arrondissement of Mamers, diocese of Le Mans) or the parish of Saint-Martin in lgé (diocese of Chartres), Perche, the son of René Lereau or Leureau and Marguerite Guillin. He and Suzanne had seven children. Daughter Marie was born about 1658 or 1659, followed by Pierre, born about 1660 or 1661. Catherine was baptized 20 March 1663 at Chateau-Richer, but was buried there on 02 April. The next child, baplized 04 May 1664, was given the name Catherine again, but she was buried one week after her baptism. Anne was born on the Île d'Orléans and baptized Or June 1665 at Château-Richer, the closest parish. The parish of Sainte.
Famille, Île d'Orléans was established in 1666 and son Sixte was baptized there on 10 October 1667, followed by Marie-Madeleine on 29 September 1669.

Simon Lereau died at the Hôtel-Dieu de Québec some time between 02 November 1670 and 07 January 1671. On 05 February 1671, notary Vachon drew up a marriage contract between Suzanne and Robert Coutard. It is not known if Suzanne's second husband could sign this contract, which she could not. Robert was born about 1643 in Vendôme (diocese of Le Mans), Maine, the son of François Coutard and Anne Jolly. He can be found in the 1666 and 1667 censuses at Montral as the indentured servant of Antoine Primot. Robert and Suzanne had four children together. Daughter Marie was baptized 24 January 1672 at Sainte-Famille, ile d'Orléans, where she was buried 03 April 1673. François (dit Larose) was baptized at Sainte-Famille 10 June 1675, followed by Marie (15 July 1677) and Pierre (24 November 1679). The 1681 census finds the family at Lauzon.

It is not known when Suzanne Jarousseau died, though she was noted as a patient at the Hôtel-Dieu de Québec on 01 November 1694. Robert Coutard died 24 January 1706 at was buried the next day at Tilly.
