Suzanne Rousselin was born about 1644 in the parish of Saint-Jacques in Moüaze, Mouate or Mantes (arrondissement and diocese of Rennes), Brittany, the daughter of Philibert Rousselin and Hélène Martin. She came to Canada in 1665, at about age 21.
On 06 June 1666, Suzanne married Jacques Leblanc at Montréal. Though no mariage contract has been found, either spouse could sign their names. Jacques was born about 1636 in the parish of Saint-Pierre in Pont-l'Évêque (diocese of Lisieux), Normandy, the son of Antoine Leblanc and Madeleine Boucher. He came to Canada in 1659. Son Julien was baptized 21 March 1667 in Montréal, then the family moved to the Bourg-Royal section of Charlesbourg. Michel was baptized 13 December 1669 at Québec City, followed by Pierre on 11 November 1671.
On 20 June 1673, Fille du Roi Jeanne Rossignol brought a complaint before the Prévôté de Québec against Suzanne and her husband after a quarrel. After hearing the case, the court ordered Jeanne to keep out of others” business and warned both parties not to insult each other.
Daughter Françoise was baptized 23 October 1674 in Québec City, followed by Jacques (13 September 1677) and Marie (20 April 1680, Charlesbourg). Sadly, Michel died before and Pierre died after the 1681 census, which finds the family living in the village of Saint-Claude in Charlesbourg. Joseph was baptized 18 October and buried 25 October 1683 at Charlesbourg, followed by Marie-Anne (20 December 1684) and Charles (24 April 1688).
Jacques Leblanc died 14 April 1710. Suzanne Rousselin followed her husband to the grave only days later. She died 17 April 1710 at Saint-Claude and was buried two days later at Charlesbourg.
