According to Stephen White, during the Isle Madame Genealogy Summit Sept. 15, Joseph's second name is Marin. He is shown in the Cape Breton Militia records of 1813 at 55 years old, suggesting he was born in 1764. He was baptized on July 20, 1768 by Fr. Bailley, as noted in his Kingsclear Register. His spouse was probably a Landry or a Marchand based on a dispensation granted in a later marriage viewed by Mr. White. He settled on Isle Madame and is mentioned in Robin's Journal.
