Louis-Telesphore Marchand (called John or Jean, and son of Jean Marchand ), baptized about 1755 at Port-Toulouse; after living for a time at L'Ardoise, he settled at Petit de Grat where he was a fisherman in 1811; married about 1787, at Arichat, Anastasie (Nathalie) BIRET, daughter of Pierre Biret and Marie-Amable JOSSE of L'Ardoise (born August 6, 1770, baptized September 9,1771, at Gaburus Bay, Cape Breton. Telesphore (Jean) and Nathalie had twelve children.
