Michael Pivin 1945 - 2005 LUDLOW - Michael Pivin, 60, who was loved and supported by his family and many friends, died Saturday, April 9, at Baystate Medical Center after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Michael was born in Drummondville, Canada, moved to Springfield at age 10 and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He resided in Ludlow for the past 35 years and retired in 2002 after 31 years of employment with Interstate Bakeries. He was a member of the New England Teamsters and was recently employed by HGA as a merchandiser. Michael loved to travel, play cards and golf with his sons. He leaves his beloved wife of 36 years, Pamela; his 3 sons, Gregory of Ludlow, Christopher of New Haven and Daniel of Enfield; his sister Denise Dwyer and her husband Rick of Bourne, MA; his brothers-in-law Thomas of Springfield and Michael of Agawam and several beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Michael's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff in the Oncology Department at Baystate Medical Center for all of their efforts and care. Funeral services will be on Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. from the Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church on Island Pond Rd. in Springfield followed by burial in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visitation is on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 and donations may be made in Michael's memory to The Leukemia Society, Massachusetts Chapter 180 Rustcraft Rd. Suite 110, Dedham, MA. 02026-4594.
