Clovis Hamel and Adalida Hamel (ref certificate in G3). He later informally
changed his name to Fred.
1908 -graduated Ninth Grade School, Thursday, June 25th in the GAR Hall
1910 -became a Bristol fireman in the Ever Ready Engine and Hose Co and served
as Treasurer for 40 years.
Abt 1915 -leader of the EverReady Fife & Drum Corps (ref photo Lg - G3).
1926 -member of the 4th of July Parade Committee (ref photo Lg - G2).
1029 thru 39 -Assistant town Fire Chief.
1939 thru 41 -named Fire Chief in Bristol, had command of the EverReady,

rescue team in 1948, lifetime member of the State Fireman's League and member of the Fire Chief's Club.
Worked as a mason for US Rubber in Bristol.
1945 -U.S. Rubber Co. Fire Department Fire Chief.
1951 thru 53 -Republican Town Councilman and Fire Commissioner.

1974 -May 11, received an appreciation award from the Town of Bristol, "Has rendered 50 years of valuable and distinguished service and as a charter
member to the Ever-Ready Engine and Hose Co., No. 2, and to the Town of
Bristol, Rhode Island, and this certificate is issued in recognition thereof
by the Town Council of Bristol, Rhode Island, on behalf of it's citizens and
all fire comrades."
Fred served 2 terms as Bristol Fire Chief, was on the town council fire
commission. He worked as a stone mason for 44 years at the former U.S. Rubber Co. plant, which became the Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp. plant in Bristol until his retirement in 1958. he was also a member of the Pius X Assembly, Forth Degree, Knights of Columbus in Riverside, RI.
Died in St. Joseph's Hospital, Providence, RI, services were at St. Mary's
Church, and buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bristol RI. (Ref Map G1) He had 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
