MARIE MANCHESTER OBITUARY
Marie A. (Cavallaro) Manchester, age 75, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 4, 2023. She was the former wife of the late Norman A. Manchester Jr.
Born in Fall River, MA she was the daughter of the late Marie D. "Lena" (Marchand) Cavallaro and Louis "Red" Cavallaro. The sister of the late Ann (Cavallaro) Medeiros. She was a longtime resident of Bristol, RI.
Marie was a graduate of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and Colt Memorial High School. She worked for R.I. Country Club for 10 years, owned and operated Manchester's Mexican Restaurant before retiring from Bradley Hospital, food and Nutritional Department where she was a cook for over 18 years, during that time she was an Emma Award recipient and loved working with the children.
Marie was the caregiver to her aunt and mother for over twenty years. She was a communicant of O.L.M.C. Church where she was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society. Marie also enjoyed attending mass at St. Mary's and St. Elizabeth's Churches. A true Bristolian, she had a great love for the 4th of July parade. She enjoyed playing Bingo, slots and attending church events. She had a deep love for all her family and lived for them.
Marie is survived by two sons, Norman A. Manchester III and his wife Kimberly of Rehoboth, MA and Louis A. Manchester and his wife Martha of Swansea, MA; one daughter, Lee Ann Manchester and her husband Dereck of Rehoboth, MA; one brother, Owen Cavallaro and his wife Virginia of Seekonk, MA; Eight grandchildren, Kaytlin Pereira, Emily Gensel, Rebecca Manchester, Norman Manchester IV, Louis Manchester Jr, Zachary Brown, Dereck Jr. and Nicholas Sullivan; Ten great-grandchildren, Kyliee Mcvey, Ava Mcvey, Joshua Peck, Brentlee Gensel, Aaliyah Pereira, Leila Peck, Cooper Jones, Josiah Escobar, Bryson Quinlan, A'Royal Say, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 10 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol, RI. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 17th, 2023 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM in the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren, RI. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol, RI. Contributions in her honor may be made to the 2023 International Fellowship of Christians and Jews @ help.IFCJ.0rg.
