Baptism transcription states that she was daughter of Pierre and Marie [Berard]. Mother’s name in the record is entered [Berard] which seems unusual. This is because the original record only had Marie and there was no last name. Their Marriage record date is 1662. There is some question that she is the daughter of Marie Jobin, Pierre’s first wife in France. Gagné describes her as the daughter of Marie Jobin. This is in conflict with the baptism transcription and Tanguay.
