Fille à Marier per Gagné for David D8, D9, D10:
Marie Vie dite Lamotte was born about 1643 in the parish of Saint-Nicolas-des-Champs in Paris, the daughter of Robert Vié, Sieur de La Mothe and Sainte Paulin from Paris. Her father was first sergeant of a company of the regiment of guards. Marie is the sister of Fille du Roi Marie-Sainte Vie dite Lamotte and the half-sister of filleà marier Marguerite Breton. She probably arrived in New France in 1659.
On 27 November 1659, Marie married Hubert Simon dit Lapointe in Québec City. She could not sign the marriage contract drawn up 23 November by notary Audouart (at which fellow fille à marier Marie. Charlotte de Poitiers was present) but her husband could. Hubert was born about 1634 in Taverny (arrondissement of Pontoise, archdiocese of Paris), the son of Guillaume Simon and Sébastienne Doublez. On 02 May 1660, Marie returned the favor of Marie-Charlotte de Poitiers, appearing as a witness at her marriage contract.
Hubert and Marie had 15 children. Daughter Marie-Anne was baptized 29 August 1660 at Québec City followed by Pierre (05 March 1662), Marie-Angélique dite Jeanne-Angélique (03 May 1663), Guillaume (24 September 1664) and Jacques (07 March 1666). Marie-Madeleine was baptized at Sillery on 29 March 1668, followed by Agnès (20 May 1669, Québec), Marie-Françoise (19 January 1671, Sillery), Joseph (bor about
1672) and Ignace (10 February 1674, Québec). It seems that sometime between the births of Agnès and Ignace, the family settled at the Côte Saint-Michel in Sillery, though most of the children were still baptized at Queber City. Marguerite-Françoise was baptized 19 November 1675 in Siler. followed by twins Augustin and Marie-Louise (10 July 1677, Québec), Anne (21 March 1679) and Charles (12 August 1680).
Marie Vie die Lamotte died 25 May 1682 at the Holel-Dieu de Quebec and was buried the nest day. On 15 April 1703, notary La Cele drew up a marriage contract between Huber a Apratine de Belleau, but was annulled and the two did not marry. Hubert Simon dir Lapointe was buried 18 November 1704 in Québec City.
