M. . . Fa. . Died in Auto Mishap (article title is covered by "State Historical So., Madison, Wis. Comp." sticker)
Mrs. Albert Pevan, city, died in Black River Falls Sunday afternoon as a result of shock following an automobile accident on highway 12 approximately eight miles south of that city.
Mrs. Pevan was returning to Chippewa Falls from Florida, where she, her husband Albert, and George Pevan, city, had been vacationing.
Albert Pevan had left the party at North Lake, Wis., to visit with relatives there.
The car driven by George Pevan, struck a spot of rough ice on the pavement, bounded from side to side on the road, and slewed into a snow-bank.
Mrs. Pevan either jumped or was thrown from the car before it came to rest, and sustained a broken arm and broken hip. A passing motorist sped to Black River Falls to call an ambulance, but George Pevan was able to get his car started and rushed Mrs. Pevan into Black River Falls within half and hour of the accident.
She was suffering from shock, and died at 4:15 o'clock Sunday afternoon, approximately four hours after the accident.
