Age 87 of Louisdale, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2018 in R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home in Antigonish surrounded by her loved ones. She was the youngest child of the late Bennie and Elizabeth (Samson) Marchand (of Louisdale). Blanche will be missed by her children and grandchildren. She loved baseball especially the Blue Jays and spending time with her grandchildren. She was always ready for a good time, loved going to garage sales and shopping expeditions. She also enjoyed other people's cooking especially her son-in-law Tom. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Abraham Sampson; daughters, Delores (Tom) Brannon, Wanda Landry, Gisele James; sons, Roy (Darlene), Kenny (Lise). She will be dearly remembered by her grandchildren, Amanda, Adam, Christopher, Tyler and Billy; brother, Bennie Marchand. Blanche was predeceased by her siblings, Narcisse, Helene (Nellie), Ina, Viola, Clarence, Gladys, Francis, Vina, Jean Baptiste, Godfrey, Leonard, Mildred, Emile, Edith, Freda, and Priscille. Visitation will be held in the Glen Sampson Room in Louisdale on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place Thursday morning at 11 a.m. in St. Louis Church, Louisdale with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac presiding. Burial to follow in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisdale. A reception will follow the burial in St. Louis Parish Hall, Louisdale. Memorial donations can be made to St. Louis Parish Cemetery Fund, Louisdale. Special thanks to the staff at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home for the care they gave to Mum in her final years.
