Kehoe, John Alphonse - 82, Arichat, formerly of Rocky Bay, died May 20, 2002, at his residence, in St Anne Community & Nursing Care Centre, Arichat. Born in Rocky Bay, he was a son of the late James and Artemise (Cavanaugh) Kehoe. He was a self-employed fisherman most of his life. He was president for many years and founder of the Cape Breton Fishermen's Association.
He is survived by daughters, Cynthia, Elaine, Nancy; sons, Hector, Patrick, Paul, Al, Myles, Robert, Steven, Vincent; sister, Alice; brothers, Ulysses, Daniel; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine Corinne (Poirier); brothers, Howard, Bill, Bernie, Junior; sister, Mary.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday in St. Hyacinth Church, D'Escousse, Rev Bruno Ruel officiating. Burial of remains to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St Anne Community and Nursing Care Centre, Arichat or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
