Jeanne Denot was bom about 1645 in the parish of Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois in Paris, the daughter of Antoine Denot and Catherine Leduc. After her father's death, she left for Canada in 1666 at about age 21.

On 07 June 1667, Jeanne married André Robidou dit Lespagnol in Québec City. Neither spouse could sign the marriage contract drawn up 16 May by notary Duquet. André was born about 1640 in Santa-Maria-in-Galicia (diocese of Burgos), Spain, the son of Emmanuel Robidou and Catherine Alve. A sailor, he came to Canada in 1666 or earlier in the service of Eustache Lambert. André and Jeanne settled at Laprairie and had five children. Romaine was baptized 11 July 1669 in Québec City, but the rest of the children were baptized at Laprairie. Marguerite was baptized there 10 November 1671, followed by Jeanne (20 September 1673), Guillaume (28 November 1675) and Joseph (15 January 1678).

André Robidou dit Lespagnol died 01 April 1678 and was buried at Montréal. On 16 August of that same year, Jeanne married Jacques Surprenant dit Sanssoucy at Laprairie. Jacques was born about 1644 in Saint-Martin-d'Asprès or Saint-Martin-du-Vieux-Bellême (arrondissement of Mortagne), Perche. He is the son of Jacques Surprenant and Louise Roquet. Jacques came to Canada 17 August 1665 as a soldier with the Contrecoeur Company of the Carignan Regiment.

Jacques and Jeanne continued to live at Laprairie and had eight children together. Jean was baptized 04 December 1679 at Laprairie, but was buried 04 June 1680. Marguerite was baptized at Laprairie on 05 June 1681, followed by Pierre on 21 January 1683. Sadly, three-year-old Marguerite was buried 26 July 1684 at Laprairie. Laurent was born about 1685, followed by Catherine (baptized 29 July 1686) and Claude (21 September 1688). The burial of one-year-old Claude on 10 September 1689 was followed by the birth of Marie about 1690 and the baptism of Anne on 21 January 1692. Unfortunately, Anne was buried 01 February 1692.

Jacques Surprenant dit Sanssoucy died and was buried 16 July 1710 at Laprairie. Jeanne Denot died at Laprairie between 20 January 1692 and
10 October 1701.
