Marguerite Dusson was born about 1656, though her origins in
France are unknown. She came to Canada in 1670, at about age 14.

Some time in 1670 or 1671, Marguerite married Jean Lavallée dit
Petit-Jean at Sorel. À woodworker, Jean was bo about 1652, of unknown
origin. He can be found in the 1666 census as the 13-year-old servant of the
Jesuits at Notre-Dame-des-Anges (Charlesbourg). Jean and Marguerite
settled at Sorel, where daughter Jeanne was born about 1672, followed by
Jean, baptized 14 February 1674 at Sorel. Françoise was baptized at Sorel 29
December 1675, followed by Catherine (03 November 1678) and Pierre-
Noël (05 April 1680). Pierre-Noël became an engagé Ouest in 1703.

A soldier with the Saint-Ours Company, Jean Lavallée was killed
by the Iroquois 12 July 1692 and was buried the same day at Montréal.
Some time about 1694, Marguerite married Charles Vanet dit Le Parisien at
Sorel. A carpenter, Charles was born about 1649 in Paris, though his
parents’ names are unknown. He arrived in Canada in September 1665 as a
soldier with the Loubias Company of the Carignan Regiment. He was
previously (1674) married to Catherine Magnan, with whom he had seven
children. Marguerite and Charles lived at Sorel, but had no children
together. Marguerite Dusson died 20 July 1731 at Sorel. Charles Vanet dit
Le Parisien died 04 February 1732.
