From Gagné:
Marie Lamy was born about 1653, though her origins in France are unknown. She may be related to Joseph-Isaac Lamy, who married Fille du Roi Marie-Madeleine De Chevrainville dite Lafontaine. Marie came to Canada in 1671, at about age 18.
In the 1666 census, Marie is listed as the servant of Nicolas Cantin, but this should be Marin Lamy. Some time during 1671 or 1672, Marie married François Chevrefils dit Lalime at Saint-Ours. Though no mariage contract has been found, it is known that neither spouse could sign their names. François was born about 1643 in the diocese of Périgueux, Périgord, though his parents’ names are unknown. He arrived in Canada 12 September 1665 as a soldier with the Saint-Ours Company of the Carignan Regiment, aboard the Saint-Sébastien. François and Marie settled at Saint-Ours, where daughter Marie-Anne was born about 1672, followed by Louis about 1674. Mathurin was baptized 16 October 1676 at Sorel, followed by François, who was born about 1678. Sadly, Mathurin died after the 1681 census.
François Chevrefils dit Lalime died 18 May 1678. Later that year or some time in 1679, Marie married Jean Duval at Saint-Ours. Jean was born about 1641, of unknown origins. He arrived in Canada in August 1665 as a soldier with the Saint-Ours Company of the Carignan Regiment and can be found in the 1667 census as a servant of the Sulpicians in Montréal. Jean later became a judge for the seigneurie of Saint-Ours. Marie and Jean lived at Saint-Ours, where son Jean was born about August 1680, but was buried 24 November 1681. Françoise (21 October 1682) and Pierre (13 February 1685) were born at Saint-Ours, but baptized at Contrecoeur. Marc-Antoine was born about 1692, followed by Marie-Jeanne about 1695
Jean Duval died at Saint-Ours between 16 September 1691 and 16 July 1704. Marie Lamy died 15 March 1733 at Saint-Ours.
