From Gagné:
Marie Pescher was born about 1649, though her origins in France are unknown. She came to Canada in 1671, at about age 22.
Some time in 1671 or 1672, Marie married
Jean Harel at Trois-Rivières. Though no marriage contract has been found, it is known that Marie could sign her name, but her husband could not. Jean was born about 1649, of unknown origin. He can be found in the 1667 census as the servant of Jacques Aubuchon (husband of Fille du Roi Marguerite Itas) at Trois-Rivières. On 31 May 1672, both Jean and Marie signed an act of obligation (loan) drawn up by notary Ameau for money that they borrowed from Michel Pelletier, seigneur of La Prade.
Son Michel was born about 1672, followed by Jean-François (about 1674), Marie-Thérèse (about 1677) and Françoise (baptized 22 April 1678, Trois-Rivières). The family then settled in the seigneurie of La Prade (Gentilly). François was baptized 30 May 1680 at Champlain, followed by Louis (13 January 1683, Cap-de-la-Madeleine), Jacqueline (09 June 1684, Champlain),
Jeanne (14 March 1687) and
Marie-Clémence (married Pierre Pélissier, 1714).
Jean Harel died and was buried 05 January 1716 at Sorel. Marie Pescher died 19 November 1728 and was buried the next day at Montréal.
