Françoise Lemoine was born about 1645 in the parish of Saint-Leu-et-Saint-Gilles in Paris, the daughter of Antoine Lemoine and Françoise De Longuemerlière. She came to Canada in 1665, at about age 20.

On 15 June 1666, Françoise signed a mariage contract with Pierre-René Niquet at Cap-de-la-Madeleine. Her husband could not sign this document, drawn up by notary Latouche. Pierre-René was born about 1642in Brizambourg (arrondissement of Saint-Jean-d'Angély, diocese of Saintes), Saintonge, the son of Michel Niquet and Catherine Montis. He can be found in the 1666 and 1667 censuses in the Trois-Rivières region. Pierre and Françoise had 11 children. Son Pierre was born about 1667, followed by Marie (about 1668), Madeleine (about 1671) Jean (about 1673). Alexis was born about 1675, followed by François (about 1677) and Pierre (about 1679). Son Pierre died before the 1681 census, which finds the family at Champlain, Marie-Angélique was baptized 06 August 1683 at Sorel, followed by Gertrude (26 September 1688, Saint-François-du-Lac), Marie-Thérèse (28 September 1690) and Marie-Josèphe (married Jean-Baptiste Hus, 1725).

Pierre-René Niquet died 21 October 1722. The next year, his widow and children were noted in the aveu et dénombrement living along the Tardif Canal on a plot with six arpents of frontage by 12 in depth, with 20 arpents of farmland and three arpents of prairie. Françoise Lemoine was buried 10 November 1728 at Saint-François-du-Lac.
