Fille à Marier per Gagné for David D7, D9
Marie Pomponnelle was born about 1630 in Longèves (arrondissement and diocese of La Rochelle), Aunis, the daughter of Jean Pomponnelle and Michelle Boulet, both of whom died prior to her departure for New France in 1656.
On 17 August 1656, Marie married Nicolas Petit dit Lapré or Laprée in Trois-Rivières. She could not sign the marriage contract drawn up 24 July by notary Ameau, but her husband could. Nicolas was born about 1632 in Le Gué-d' Alleré (canton of Courçon, arrondissement and diocese of La Rochelle), Aunis, the son of Nicolas Petit and Catherine Anceline. He enlisted to go to Canada as a plowman on 16 March 1649.
Nicolas and Marie had nine children. Daughter Jeanne was baptized 31 May 1657 at Trois-Rivières, followed by Louis (04 August 1658), Pierre (08 March 1660) and Jacques (10 November 1661, buried end of December 1661). Paul was baptized at Trois-Rivières 01 November 1662, followed by Nicolas (23 October 1664) and Michel (born about 1667). Sadly, Pierre died some time between the 1667 census, which finds the family at Cap-de-La-Madeleine, and the 1681 census, which finds them back at Trois-Rivières.
Marie-Gertrude was baptized at Trois-Rivières on 30 June 1669, followed by Marie-Françoise on 28 June 1671.
Nicolas Petit dir Lapré or Laprée died 26 June 1697 and was buried the next day at Varennes. Marie Pomponnelle died 18 November 1700 at Varennes, where she was buried the next day
