Catherine Camus
(1633-1678)

Catherine Camus was born about 1633 in St. Soulle, La Rochelle, Charente Maritime, France; the daughter of Hector Camus and Jacqueline Mondy.  She arrived in the colony as a Filles A Marier, contracted to be the bride of Charles Gauthier.  The wedding took place on August 02, 1656 at Ville De Québec.  

Charles was born about 1618 in Paris, France; the son of Philippe Gauthier and Marie Pichon.  He and Catherine would have nine children before her death on October 17, 1678 at Ste-Foye, Cote-Nord-de-Québec.  Charles followed on February 09, 1703.

Catherine Gauthier - Was born on May 31, 1658 at Ste-Foye and died on April 09, 1712 in Pointe-Aux-Trembles.  She married Pierre Cartier.

Marie Gauther - Was born on May 02, 1660 and died unknown.  She married Francois Quintal.

Genevieve Gauthier - Was born on February 20, 1662 and died about 1678 at Ste-Foye.

Claire-Francoise Gauthier - Was born on April 28, 1664 in Ste-Foye and died unknown in Boucherville.  She married Christophe Fevrier and the couple had eight children.

Renee Gauthier - Was born on September 04, 1666 and died unknown at Ste-Foye.

Marie-Madeleine Gauthier - Was born on January 24, 1669 and died unknown in Ste-Foye.

Louis-Bernard Gauthier - Was born on August 19, 1671 in Ste-Foye and died unknown at Ste-Famille.  He married Elisabeth Premont.

Louise-Bernadine Gauthier - Was born on August 20, 1672 and died unknown at Ste-Foye.
