Fille du Roi per Gagné - Connected to Joseph Pivin and Charlotte Boulay

Anne Rivière was born about 1652 in the parish of Saint-Michel in Angers, Anjou, the daughter of Jean Rivière and Anne Chartier or Charles. After losing both parents, she left for Canada in 1670 at about age 18, taking with her goods worth an estimated 300 lives for her dowry.

On 31 August 1670, notary Becquet drew up a marriage contract between Anne and Jean Vincent. However, it was never signed by the couple or even the notary, and the two did not marry. About 1676, Anne married Jean Seleurier dit Deslauriers at Saint-Ours and was given the King's Gift of 50 lives. Though no marriage contract has been found, it is known that neither spouse could sign their names. Jean was born about 1640, though his origins are unknown. He came to Canada in September 1665 as a soldier with the Des Portes Company of the Carignan Regiment.
Anne and Jean settled at Saint-Ours, but had no children (?). Anne Rivière died after the 1681 census. Jean Seleurier dit Deslauriers died 23 January 1712 and was buried the next day at Varennes.
