ALLARD - contraction of Adélard, from the Germanic name Adalhard, which means 'ancient-noble and strong-hard'. 1) François Allard is the son of Jacques and Jacqueline Frérot of N.-D.-de-Blacqueville in Normandy, where he was born around 1637. He married in Quebec on November 1, 1671 Jeanne Languille, daughter of Michel and Étiennette Toucheraine of Touraine. They had eight children. Arrived in the country around 1666, he worked in 1667 as a hired worker before buying land in Bourg-La-Reine in 1670. He increased his assets by buying new land and then obtaining two concessions. Widowed in 1711, he disagreed on the division of his property with his children who refused, first to protect his future. He was buried in Charlesbourg on October 25, 1726. 2) Pierre Allard, born around 1653, son of Pierre and Mathurine Verdon of Ste-Hermine in Poitou, married on November 20, 1683, in Ste-Anne-du-Petit-Cap, Anne Lavoie, daughter of René and Anne Godin; she died after her second child and Pierre remarried on November 9, 1690 to Marie Marthe de Lugré, born in Château-Richer in 1667 to Jacques and Marie Taupier. They had 5 children but Marie died in 1699. On August 29, 1700, Pierre married Madeline Pinel and they had 3 children. Originally a cooper, he found himself involved in many negotiations and inheritances, and after his death on September 18, 1703, his succession was disputed for a long time. 3) Julien Allard is only known to us at the time of his marriage around 1675 in Sorel to Marie Mercier, of whom this is also the first mention. They had 6 children. He arrived on August 18, 1665 with a company of the regiment of Carignan-Salières, and the nickname of Labarre. He was sent to the Richelieu region and spent his life first in the Sorel region then, in the 1681 census, near Berthier-en-Haut. For the birth of his last in 1695, he was on Île Grosbois and in 1702 he received a concession in Lavaltrie. He died there on March 21, 1704. His wife survived him since in 1711 she made a gift to her son-in-law on condition that he take care of her. Photos of Casimir Allard, the family of Guillaume Allard and Marie-Ève Allard
