NAUGATUCK – Marita J. Swierbitowicz, 66, died peacefully on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the loving wife of Robert L. Swierbitowicz.

Marita was born on April 3, 1951, in Fall River, Mass., a daughter of the late Eugene and Margaret (Guevremont) Ferreira. She was a longtime Naugatuck resident and was very devoted to her family, she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Bob, Marita is survived by three sons, William Swierbitowicz, Robert Swierbitowicz and fiancé, Carla Perrella, Ronald Swierbitowicz and wife, Lorraine; three brothers, Fred Ferreira and wife, Vicki, Eugene “Beany” Ferreira and wife, Ann, Remie Ferreira and wife, Susan; a sister, Ellen Fusco and husband, Michael, her four beloved grandchildren, Shane, Audrey Joseph and Grace; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Thursday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
