MARCHAND, Anita Mary - Age 88, of Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home, formerly of
L ouisdale, passed away peacefully in Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston
on October 23, 2013. Born in Louisdale, she was a daughter of the late
Thomas and Sabine Rose (Samson) Marchand. Anita was the owner/operator of
the Louisdale Convenience store in Louisdale for 42 years, she was an active
church goer being a member of St. Louis Parish Council, choir, and CWL, she
was also a founding member of the Fleur-de-lis Seniors Club and loved to
dance. A loving grandmother to Jonathan and Haley and truly loved looking
after them. She will be sadly missed by son, Marc Andrien (Dr. Debbie)
Marchand, Louisdale; grandchildren, Jonathan, Halifax; Haley, Louisdale;
sister, Edna (Eddie) Boudreau, Louisdale. She was predeceased by her
husband, Walter Joseph Marchand; brothers, Alphonse, Eugene, Raymond,
Bernard; sisters, Rose, Evelyn, and Viola. Visitation will be held in the
Glen Sampson Room in Louisdale on Sunday, from 2-4 and 7- 9 p.m. Funeral
Mass will take place on Monday morning at 11 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic
Church, Louisdale, with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial to follow
in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisdale. Memorial donations can be made to
the Strait Richmond Hospital Palliative Care Society or to the Alzheimer
Society of Nova Scotia. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau
