JEFFREY, Arthur Joseph 'Pinto' - Of Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully July 17th, 2012, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Louisdale, Cape Breton, he was the son of the late, Charles and Eva (Sampson) Jeffrey. He worked as a longshoreman in Halifax for 35 years. He was a member of Calais Branch 162 Royal Canadian Legion. Arthur was a faithful member of St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church. He was also a veteran of the Merchant Navy. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gertrude (Ryan) Jeffrey; daughters, Paulette Ansems, Bonnie (Bill) Spruin
and sons, Francis (Marilyn), Dennis (Susan), all of Lower Sackville; sister, Kathleen Venedam, of Antigonish; brother, Albert (Emiline), of Louisdale, Cape Breton; grandchildren, Andrew, Jodi, Michael, Christina, Jamie and Ryan; great-grandchildren, James and Madison; many loving extended family, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Alfred, Leo, Norman, Joseph and Willard; sisters, Margaret, Beatrice, Rita, Josephine and May. Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. today with Legion Service at 6 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., where funeral service will be 10 a..m Saturday.
