Hello Sir,
My name is Randall Pevin and I stumbled upon your page through the Mensa
page. I saw your last name and drilled deeper into your site because I
was told by a relative that we were once Pivins.
I was amazed to find that you have roots in R.I.. I was born in Warren
and all of the relatives I know about (less than 10) are from R.I.. We
are from Bristol, Warren and areas around Providence.
I am thinking that my ancestors must be related to the Pivins from that
area.
My situation is a bit complicated in that I was adopted by my maternal
grandparents, George and Anita Pevin at the age of six. Having said
that, I have always considered myself a Pevin and my limited
geneological research has been focused there.
I would appreciate any info on the Pivins and would gladly trade as much
Pevin info as I can find.
One of my questions I have never gotten a clear answer to is: is
Pivin/Pevin a french name? I've heard a rather vague connection to a
Native-Canadian people (as in Native-American).
Any information or correspondence would be appreciated.
