Eugene C. Ferreira Sr., 80, of 31 Nottingham Terrace, Waterbury, Conn., died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Abbott Terrace, Waterbury. He was the husband of Theresa (Mercier) Ferreira and the late Margaret (Guevermont) Ferreira.

Born in Bristol on June 10, 1923, a son of the late Adolf and Jennie (Rogers) Ferreira, he worked as a food service supervisor at Mattatuck Health Care Center, Waterbury, until his retirement. He also worked for may years at the former Jones Nursing Home, Naugatuck, Conn.

Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Fred Ferreira of Torrington, Conn., Beany Ferreira of Chesire, Conn., and Remie Ferreira of Terryville, Conn.; two daughters, Marita Swierbitowicz of Naugatuck and Ellie Fusco of Watertown, Conn.; a brother Norman Ferreira of Bristol; and 14 grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Funeral services were held at Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, Naugatuck. Burial was at the family’s convenience.
