Email from Jeanne Belford, 11/11/04, regarding use of Marie-Noelle as her first name.

[Steven White] later made the decision to omit it, as in his
Dictionnaire Genealogique, Volume I, page 953, Published in 1999.

I'll have to ask him why he still includes it in parenthesis though. I
know no more other than he told me to remove the reference to "Noelle".

Email from Charles Samson to George Rose and Jim Meunier

Hello George and Jim:

Here is Stephen White's take on Noelle Langlois:

From part of a letter to Ed Galvin, dated November 20, 1981,  Stephen A.
White, genealogist at the University of Moncton, wrote:  "I had  long
supposed that the wife of Francois Josse, Sr., was Marie-Francoise  Langlois,
born and baptized Dec. 11, 1708, at Port Royal. Lately I have found,  however,
that Francoise Langlois married, about 1726 at Port Toulouse, Thomas
Lecuyer. This couple subsequently lived at Louisbourg. So who was Francois
Josse's wife? She must still have been a daughter of Francois Langlois and
Madeleine Comeau. I am of the opinion that she was their eldest daughter, who  was
born and baptized July 15, 1707, at Port Royal. This girl was baptized
Noelle, but she must be the same one who was subsequently known simply as
Marie.  She and Francois Josse were married about 1725 at Port Toulouse."
