Martin was a Master carpenter. The following was translated from old
medieval script of 20 Jan 1632 at St.Barthelemy of the Grand Temple at
Bibiotheque Municipal on the Rue Gagoulleau, very close to the city.

The 20th of the month and year above, on the feasts of Saints Fabien and
Sebastien, I have married Martin AUCOUIN,carpenter, domiciled in this
parish with Marie SALLE, daughter of the late Denys SALLE and of
Francoyse ARNAUD of this parish, and with the consent of her parish
priest in the presence of Nicolas Jagueneau, patrom, ironworker, Arnauld
GYOU, carpenter, Pierre DUSAULT, merchant, Jean BERTRAND butcher, Martin
BARRAUD, merchant, Jean BROSSARD, butcher, and Anthoine COURBEAU, mason
and many others.
